Scope and Governing Version
This privacy policy applies to the use of the website georgwacker.com, the associated worldwide app support, and enquiries for IT services and software development, which are currently provided exclusively to clients in Germany. The use of our apps is governed by separate privacy policies. This privacy policy is available in German and English; in the event of any discrepancy, the German version shall prevail.
1. Data Processing and Legal Bases
We process personal data only to the extent necessary (Art. 5(1)(c) GDPR).
1.1 App Support (Worldwide)
If you contact our support by email, we process the information you provide: name, email address, device name, operating system, app version, problem description, and optionally screenshot(s). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in resolving errors and maintaining a functional service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If the request relates to an existing contractual relationship, the processing may additionally be based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
1.2 IT Services and Software Development (Germany)
For enquiries and contracts we process name, email address, and project-specific details (scope, technical requirements, deadlines). Contact may be made by email, telephone, or via messenger services (Section 2.3). The legal basis is the performance of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
1.3 Website
The website uses no cookies, no tracking, analytics, or marketing tools, and collects no personal data. Our hosting provider stores server logs with anonymised IP addresses.
2. Disclosure and External Platforms
In principle, we do not disclose personal data to third parties, sell it, or use it for advertising or marketing emails. Exceptions:
2.1 Hosting and Email
Our website and email accounts are hosted by Uberspace eG (Mainz, Germany). Uberspace processes the data on our behalf as a processor in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
2.2 Apple App Store
Apple Inc. sells our apps exclusively through the Apple App Store. Purchase, billing, and associated data (account, payment, device) are processed by Apple under its own privacy terms. We do not receive payment data; the website serves only as a support hub and contains links to the App Store.
2.3 Messenger Services (iMessage, Signal, Telegram)
You may use messenger services to contact us regarding IT services. In this case, the respective providers (Apple Inc., Signal Foundation, Telegram FZ-LLC) act as independent controllers for the data processed through their platforms; transmission may take place on servers outside the EEA.
2.4 External Links and Social Media
The website contains links to external platforms, including GitHub, the Apple App Store, and social media platforms such as Mastodon, Bluesky, and LinkedIn. Once you click through, the privacy policy of the destination applies; we are not responsible for their content or data processing and collect no data through these links.
3. Transfers to Third Countries
We do not transfer personal data to third parties in countries outside the EEA; any transfers through external platforms are the responsibility of the respective provider (Section 2.3).
4. Retention Period
As a general rule, we retain personal data for three (3) years after the last contact or the fulfilment of the respective contractual relationship.
Where statutory retention obligations (in particular § 147 AO) require longer storage of billing-relevant records, we retain the affected data until the statutory period expires.
5. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted transmission (TLS/HTTPS), two-factor authentication (2FA) and secure password management.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights:
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification (Art. 16)
- Erasure (Art. 17)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- Data portability (Art. 20)
- Objection (Art. 21)
- Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7(3))
You may exercise your rights at any time without giving reasons by email (contact@georgwacker.com); we will respond within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority (Section 10).
7. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
8. Minors
The website and support services are intended for adult users and not for minors. We do not intentionally collect personal data from individuals under 18; if a minor contacts us, we ask that a parent or legal guardian be involved. Should we have inadvertently processed data of a person under 18, we will delete it upon request.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy. The current version with the date indicated above is always the governing one.
